Athletics For 2023-2024
All Athletes must have a complete physical for the2023-2024 School year.
All Students In Athletics Are Now Insured To Participate In Athletics. You No Longer Need Personal Health Insurance To Participate. Aps Has Acquired A Policy That Allows All Athletes To Be Covered.
If you are injured during a practice, competition, traveling to a competition, or other APS athletic school event, please make sure the Athletic Trainer is notified and has filed an accident report. All injuries and accidents have 72 hours to be reported.

Mission Statement
The Highland High School Athletic Department is committed to the ultimate development of our student-athletes. The department promotes individual and team development, intellectually, educationally, and athletically. We are steadfast in attaining and preparing our student-athletes in helping them learn, compete, and win both in and outside of the athletic domain.

Dragonfly
Eligibility for Fall Semester 2023-2024
Eligibility will be based on grades from the Spring 22-23 semester.
All incoming freshmen are immediately eligible if they have not participated in High Schools athletics as an 8th grader. Upperclassmen will be using Spring Semester grades.
2.0 with no Failing Grades. 1 Failing grade for upperclassmen will allow for using the cumulative grade from transcripts.
Freshmen may not use Cumulative Grading after the first semester only.
A student that is ineligible at semester may regain eligibility at the end of the next 9 weeks. 2.00 GPA with no failing grades.
8th Graders in 2023-2024 that will be participating in tryouts at Highland HS for all sports will need to be residents in our High School Attendance Area. 8th Graders will need an Athletic Physical to participate in tryouts or workouts. 8th Graders are held to the same Academic requirements stated above. 8th Graders that participate on a team will sign an NMAA 8th Grader Athletic Participation contract waiving the "Open Enrollment Choice."
Charter Students wanting to participate at Highland High School must live within the attendance area of Highland High School. Charter students must still register as non-attending students in our Counseling Office.
Charter students must provide a completed athletic physical to the Athletic Trainer and contact the coach for team selection dates.

Every Highland Athlete must register online with Dragonfly.
Athletes will only need to complete the registration once for the entire year even if they participate in multiple sports.
To complete the Highland Online Registration each athlete must complete the "Life of an Athlete" and NHSF: Concussion Course.
These courses are offered on Dragonfly for each athlete's account.
