About Crossroads Counseling
Crossroads is a substance abuse prevention/education/intervention program for high school students at APS. Highland's Crossroads Counselor is Juniper Fankel, MA LPCC. The Crossroads program services are delivered in the school setting by a group of licensed school counselors with training and experience in the field of substance abuse. Collecting student data and implementing the program with fidelity are also program requirements. This program has been operating in many APS High Schools since 1995.
Services provided include:
- Individual and group support
- Classroom/staff presentations
- Working with community agencies for proper therapeutic or rehab referrals
- Community Outreach
- Parent Involvement Program (PIP-An evening/weekend program for parents and students who have incurred alcohol and/or drug violations)
- School-wide assemblies
